Gray: We might have had all three points

Stuart Gray felt Wednesday could have left Griffin Park with all three points – rather than just one – after Tuesday night’s goalless stalemate at Brentford.

The head coach reflected: “We had some chances, we hit the post, but it just wouldn’t fall for us tonight.

“In terms of the way we played, I thought the effort and commitment was outstanding, I couldn’t have asked for any more.

“The game was nothing like a 0-0 draw, we saw two teams going all out to win and on another day, we would have taken all three points.”

Wednesday’s best spell came in the second part of the first half and Stevie May was unfortunate not to open the scoring when his close-range effort struck a post.

However, apart from a late Royston Drenthe free kick, the Owls hardly troubled the Bees after the interval while the home side will be regretting their failure to convert a clutch of chances in both halves.
