Caretaker boss Stuart Gray hailed the players – and the fans – after our tremendous win over table toppers Leicester.
Following the battling 2-1 victory, Gray said: “I thought the players gave everything and first and foremost that’s all you can ask.”
He added: “I think the players had a lot to prove. I said to them before the game that all any crowd can ask for is to see their players roll up their sleeves and give everything they have got.
“The players did that, the crowd responded and I thank them for that. In the last ten minutes particularly, they turned up the noise and helped us over the line.”
Referring his positon at the club, he said: “I was honoured to be asked by the chairman to take control for tonight’s game.
“I will enjoy tonight and talk to the chairman again tomorrow. I am told there have been over 50 applications for the job and I’m not surprised because this is a fantastic club with a brilliant history and fan base.”
