Gray left frustrated after single goal win

Stuart Gray spoke with a mixture of relief and frustration after watching his side dominate against Blackpool and then, in typical Wednesday fashion, saw them struggling for victory by the closing stages.

Gray said: “The most important thing today was getting the three points but I’m also a little disappointed that we didn’t kill it off.”

He added: “We do make life difficult for ourselves, we should have had a second goal but then end up hanging on for all three points.”

The head coach also reflected on an excellent second-half save from Keiren Westwood to deny Ishmael Miller, saying: “It was a top drawer save but I was disappointed how easily they got down our left-hand side in the build-up.

“And it was a defining moment in the game.”
