Gray happy to stay under promotion radar

Stuart Gray urged his players to drive the club forward after a thoroughly deserved victory at Forest lifted us to within four points of the play-offs.

Kieran Lee’s close-range goal on the stroke of half-time and Chrs Maguire’s excellent effort soon after the restart ensured all three points for the Owls to lift us to eighth place.

It could have been even better as we totally dominated for 15 minutes after half-time and might easily have put the game out of sight but, Wednesday being Wednesday, it meant there was no chance of that!

After watching a third successive Championship win, Gray said: “We’ll stay under the radar. I have challenged the players not to throw away the hard work they have put in, we have an opportunity and let’s go and grasp it.”

Reflecting on the overall performance, Gray added: “It was a great 2-0 win today, I’m disappointed we didn’t get more goals but it was three points.”

Gray said that he left Jeremy Helan on the bench because the player had been in France this week for personal reasons and did not arrive back until Friday lunchtime.
