Stuart Gray has this evening been appointed as head coach at Wednesday and this could be followed by the appointment of a director of football.
Gray said after the FA Cup win at Rochdale this afternoon that he was ready to sign the contract and the club has now confirmed him as head coach in a two-and-a -half-year deal.
Speaking after the Rochdale game, Gray said he was “very excited” about taking on the role and praised the players for their performancs, which helped him to land the job.
The appointment of a head coach, rather than a manager, also leaves the door open for Milan Mandaric to possibly bring in someone in a director of football role to work with Gray, as he is very much suited to the coaching side of the job.
