George Hirst was on the mark again for England under-20s as they defeated Japan 2-1 in their final Toulon Tournament group match.
Hirst, who skippered the side, gave England the lead with a penalty on 26 minutes before Japan equalised in the second half.
The Wednesday striker was substituted just before the hour and Chelsea’s Martell Crossdale-Taylor got a late winner with England’s second spot kick of the game.
The Young Lions finish top of their group and now wait to see who they will face in Thursday’s semi finals.
