Wednesday eased into the second round of the Capital One cup with a 4-1 win over Mansfield in front of a 14,000 crowd at Hillsborough tonight.
Headed goals from Lucas Joao and Jose Semedo inside the first 19 minutes put us in early control but Mansfield got themselves back in the tie just before half-time with a header of their own from Ryan Tafazolli.
However, we restored our two-goal advantage seven minutes into the second period through Kieran Lee and Modou Sougou wrapped up the victory six minutes from time when he fired home in his first appearance in a Wednesday shirt.
