Fernando Forestieri will miss Wednesday’s home game with Middlesbrough on Friday night after suffering a hamstring injury.
Forestieri picked up the problem towards the end of the win at Bristol City before the international break and Jos Luhukay says that, after a scan on the injury, the player will be out for a few weeks.
However, there was better news with Barry Bannan (groin) and Steven Fletcher (back) both fit to face Boro after their injuries forced them to be substituted at Bristol.
Meanwhile, the four players who have been away on international duty – Atdhe Nuhiu, Ash Baker, Josh Onomah and Michael Hector – have all returned injury-free and available for Friday evening.
Wednesday go into the televised game in sixth position, with just one defeat in nine Championship matches, and knowing that three points would lift us one place, ahead of Saturday’s games.
Victory for Boro would take them from fourth place to top of the table, again before the full fixture list on the following day.
