Wednesday’s fixtures for the new Championship campaign will be released on Friday, August 21 at 9am.
The season kicks off on September 12 and will conclude on the weekend of May 8-9, 2021, followed by the Play-Off finals for the Championship, Division One and Division Two over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend from May 29-31.
With the season starting six weeks later than usual, due to the Covid-19 pandemic causing a lengthy lay-off during the last campaign, the Championship will also feature 13 midweek match dates.
Meanwhile, the draw for the forthcoming season’s Carabao Cup first round, again on a regional north/south basis, takes place on August 18 on Sky Sports News, with the time to be confirmed.
The 2020-21 competition will see the first four rounds scheduled to take place on consecutive weeks, kicking off in early September, and the two-legged semi finals will be replaced by a single tie
First round fixtures are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5 but, due to the international window, some matches may be played on alternative dates.
Rounds two, three and four will take place on consecutive midweek dates starting from September 15-16 and Premier League sides will enter the competition in round two … or round three for those competing in European competitions.
