Final scoreline didn’t flatter us says Moore

Darren Moore was quick to praise his Wednesday players as they bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Cheltenham today.

He said: “Credit to the players. We came out of the traps really quickly, got the early goal and we’ve had more than 20 shots on goal. The substitutes had an impact, I was pleased for Fiz to get his goal and, my word, what an assist from Baz.

“I think on reflection 3-0 did not flatter us at all and now we put a line through this one and move on to Cambridge.”

He added: “After a blistering start, I thought we controlled the game for long periods but at 1-0 you always feel that a lapse in concentration or anything could cost you, as it only takes a second to score a goal.

“I changed things up in the second half because Cheltenham played three or four different shapes. We went back to the back five and the three in midfield. We blocked the midfield and went with the two up front.

“I am pleased with the three goals. They were all excellent strikes from Josh Windass, Baz and Fizz and I’m pleased with the dominant display today. It was all about getting the three points.”
