Cup-tied pair ready to return as Owls look to end run of defeats

Martin Taylor and Ross Barkley are back in the squad for Saturday’s tough trip to Wolves.

Defender Taylor and loanee midfielder Barkley missed out on the midweek Capital One Cup defeat at Southampton as they were both cup-tied. However, Dave Jones is likely to put them both straight back into the line-up against another of his former clubs.

Reda Johnson, Rhys McCabe and Kieran Lee are all doubtful through injury while there are reports that Stephen Bywater is on standby as Chris Kirkland is struggling with a back problem.

We also wait to see if Jay Bothroyd will take his place up front against his old club – the on-loan striker limped off with a knee problem last Saturday and then got involved in an after-match abusive Twitter rant at critical fans after getting booed off when he was subbed. He has since apologised for using such language and boss Jones has criticised his behaviour.

Wednesday are desperate to end a run of five successive defeats against a Wolves side who, a 6-0 midweek cup thrashing at Chelsea aside, have been in excellent form in recent weeks, winning their last three league games.
