Could Caolan end our S6 goal drought?

Stuart Gray may be tempted to pitch Caolan Lavery into the starting line-up as the Owls look for a first win in 12 games when Wigan come to Hillsborough tomorrow.

With Wednesday also searching to end a two-month goal drought at Hillsborough, Gray could take a gamble on the young striker who has been sidelined with a knee injury since pre-season.

Lavery was on the bench at Huddersfield last Saturday and then scored two goals for the under-21s against Chesterfield in midweek.

Stuart Gray this week acknowledged that he understands he is under pressure as we have slipped to just four points off the relegation places.

He said: “I don’t fear losing my job. I’m not frightened but stats will show if we’re not winning games and somebody has got a decision upstairs to make.

“I know I have to win games to stay in work and at the moment we are not winning enough. It’s part and parcel of football.”
