Carvalhal happy with point

Carlos Carvalhal said Wednesday could take plenty of positives from the 1-1 home draw with Hull.

Fernando Forestieri had put us ahead with a close-range effort on 28 minutes and Barry Bannan missed a great chance to make it two just before half-time when he fired over from inside the box.

And we were made to rue that chance when Abel Hernandez shot home early in the second half to equalise.

The visitors then looked the more dominant side but there were few clear chances at either end and a draw was probably the fairest result.

Carvalhal said afterwards: “If we play this well against this team then we can play the same against anyone.”

The head coach talked of the players showing no fear and good discipline and added: “Overall, a draw was a fair score and I’m happy with the point as they are one of the best teams in the division.”
