The deal to bring Romanian striker Sergiu Bus to Wednesday looks to be all but sealed … and Stuart Gray hopes to make more signings before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Gray confirmed this evening that Bus had been at Hillsborough today for a medical and to finalise terms and the 22-year-old was pictured on social media, holding up a Wednesday shirt at the ground.
Gray said: “He’s a centre forward who scores goals, he’s hard-working and aggressive, so let’s hope he’s the answer for us.”
He added that the CSKA Sofia forward was keen to come to England to further his career and to help him in his bid to make the Romanian senior squad.
Gray said that he was still hoping to bring Watford midfielder Lewis McGugan back to Hillsborough after his recent loan spell and, responding to reports linking the club wth Leicester striker Chris Wood, he said he is a player he had always liked but that any possible move was down to Leicester allowing the player to leave.
Another player said to be interesting Wednesday is QPR winger Matt Phillips, although Rangers have said he won’t be leaving Loftus Road.
