Bullen in charge as Owls hit four

Lee Bullen was in charge of the Wednesday side as we chalked up a comfortable 4-0 friendly victory at Northampton on Tuesday evening.

Bullen took on the head coach role in a temporary capacity after Steve Bruce’s resignation on Monday and he fielded two separate line-ups for the two halves.

Adam Reach shot us ahead after 17 minutes following an excellent through ball from Fernando Forestieri and when Steven Fletcher was fouled in the box just before half time, the same player got up to smash home the resulting penalty.

Atdhe Nuhiu made it three after the break when he curled the ball home from just inside the box on 57 minutes, following good work from Moses Odubajo, and Jordan Rhodes completed the scoring late on when he turned the ball home from inside the penalty area,

Wednesday were in complete control for most of the game and it was recent signing Kadeem Harris, playing the second 45 minutes, who particularly caught the eye with his pacey wing play.

First half: Westwood, Baker, Lees, van Aken, Fox, Reach, Hutchinson, McEachran, Forestieri, Fletcher, Winnall.

Second half: Dawson, Odubajo, Iorfa, Borner, Penney, Harris, Pelupessy, Bannan, Joao, Rhodes, Nuhiu.
