Manager Xisco Munoz has continued his pre-season recruitment with the signing of Spanish defender Pol Valentin from Sporting Gijon for an undisclosed fee.
Valentin, 26, is a right back who Munoz knew as a youth player at Gimnastic de Tarragona and the Owls boss said of the new signing on swfc.co.uk: “Pol is a very good talent, he’s a young guy, he’s one of the important players we now have in our squad.
“He has very good intensity. I know a lot about Pol, not only his capacity as a footballer but his personality as well and this is very good.
“He is a good, young player who can do very good things for Sheffield Wednesday.”
Valnetin has made more than 150 appearances in Spanish football and before joining Sporting Gijon he played for Pobla Mafumet, Valencia B and Fuenlabrada.
