Federico Macheda headed the all-important goal on 71 minutes after the Owls dominated the first-half in a much-improved first 45 minutes.
Dave Jones said: “I felt for the fans and the players today because everyone has worked so hard.”
Jones pointed to Doncaster scoring with their only chance of the game and was critical of our defending for the goal.
