Barry Bannan’s tremendous 40-yarder against MK Dons earlier this month has been named the 2022 EFL Goal of the Season.
The Wednesday skipper received his award at this evening’s EFL presentations held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
When interviewed, he said it was the best goal of his career but added that he hopes to better it against Fleetwood on Tuesday.
Bannan was also named in the Sky Bet League One team for the campaign and was in the three-man shortlist for the Division One Player of the Season, losing out to the winner, Scott Twine of MK Dons.
Congratulations from the London Owls, Barry, on these well-deserved honours.
