Bannan injury doubt for Rotherham clash

Carlos Carvalhal will wait on the fitness of Barry Bannan before naming his starting line-up for Saturday’s Hillsborough clash with neighbours Rotherham.

Bannan has been carrying a foot injury in recent weeks and was forced off during the second half of the midweek win over Barnsley.

Carvalhal said Bannan has been rested in recent days and will see how well the midfielder has recovered before making a decision on whether he is fit to start.

Will Buckley (shoulder), Urby Emanuelson (ankle) and Gary Hooper (hamstring) remain on the sidelines while Fernando Forestieri serves the final game of his three-match ban.
