Antonio doubtful for trip to Blackpool

Michail Antonio is an injury concern as Wednesday go in search of a much-needed victory at Blackpool on Saturday.

The winger, who has had a disappointing start to the season and was substituted against Huddersfield, tweaked a knee in training and Dave Jones says it will be a late decision on whether he is fit for consideration.

Miguel Llera is likely to continue at the back in place of the injured Kamil Zayatte as the Owls look for a second win in 16 matches, a dreadful run which sees us four points adrift of safety at the foot of the Championship table.

After last Saturday’s shocking display at home to Huddersfield, Jones may consider making changes in midfield and also has to decide whether to revert to a 4-5-1 formation from 4-4-2.

Loan keeper Damian Martinez is expected to retain his place in goal. Jones, referring again to the dropping of Chris Kirkland last week, said: “I think Kirky would be the first to say he’s been at fault with some of the goals we have conceded.

“When you’ve got competition for places and we feel someone is not doing it then we have to change it.”

Fourth-placed Blackpool are amongst the early promotion contenders, having lost just twice in 16 games, and they welcome manager Paul Ince back to the dugout after a lengthy touchline ban.
