The future of striker Jordan Rhodes at Hillsborough remains unclear.
Rhodes has been linked with a season-long loan move to Norwich but Wednesday are said to be wanting £3m for a deal to go ahead.
The other stumbling block for any such switch will be Rhodes’ high salary.He cost us £8m from Middlesbrough, signing initially on loan in February 2017, but has failed to command a regular first team place, scoring just five goals last season.
With Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher returning to training this week, following lengthy lay-offs, and Lucas Joao and Atdhe Nuhiu impressing up front in the latter part of last season, Rhodes faces an even tougher task to earn a starting place up front and Wednesday would seemingly be happy to let the player go … but on our terms.
