Wednesday fans could get their first look at new signing Almen Abdi in an Owls shirt during Sunday’s final pre-season friendly against Port Vale.
Midifelder Abdi’s move from Watford, thought to have cost around £4m, was finally confirmed on Thursday evening, with fellow Hornet and ex-S6 loanee Daniel Pudil also joining on a permanent basis.
Pudil made 42 appearances at left back for the Owls last season and went on to represent the Czech Republic at Euro 2016
Abdi, a Swiss international, joined Watford from Udinese in 2012 and has been an important part of their squad since then, including last season when he made 38 appearances in their return to the Premier League.
After signing, he said on his Twitter account: “Today, I’ve signed a three-year contract at
@swfc – looking forward to the new challenge and the new season ahead!”
