Wednesday are reported to have had a £3m bid turned down for Cardiff central defender Sean Morrison.
Carlos Carvalhal is targetting centre back as one of the positions that needs strengthening for next season and. while this initial approach for the Cardiff skipper has been rebuffed, it would not be surprising if Wednesday went back with an improved offer.
At present, we have just two first-team central defenders in Glenn Loovens and Tom Lees, with Sam Hutchinson also able to play in that position. Lees and Loovens were both troubled with injuries during last season and with back-up centre back, Vincent Sasso, out of contract, Carvahal will be keen to bolster this area as quickly as possible.
Morrison, 26, joined Cardiff from Reading in 2014 and made 46 appearances for the Welsh side last season.
