The London Owls are delighted to announce that we are now an official partner of HerGameToo.
Founded in May 2021, HerGameToo is a nationwide voluntary organisation run by female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign, with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.
Victoria Wood, HerGameToo ambassador for Wednesday, says: “During the first season of being partnered with Sheffield Wednesday, I was proud to be involved in the International Women’s Day celebration, as well as feedback any information to the club regarding sexism at Hillsborough or on the road.”
She has now written to Wednesday supporters’ clubs, like the London Owls, to ask us to help spread the HerGameToo message and we are pleased to be able to do so via the partnership.
Victoria added: “By teaming up with clubs officially we can work together with them to raise awareness, educate and create a safer environment for women and girls in football.
“Across the football pyramid, we are partnered with a number of supporters’ clubs who are willing to share our message of equality and help us to progress the campaigh amongst those it effects the most – the fans.”
