‘It was the stuff dreams are made of’ says delighted Darren

Darren Moore called it ‘the stuff of dreams’ after seeing Wednesday clinch promotion back to the Championship in the 123rd minute of the League One play-off final.

Reflecting on the performance and the dramatic goal from Josh Windass to beat Barnsley 1-0, the Owls boss said: “It’s the stuff that dreams are made of and we got the all-important touch to win the game.

“It’s a great moment and everyone should share in it. We’ve been on a long journey and everyone has played their part.

“You couldn’t write it. It’s about the character of the players. When we got to last summer we knew we needed players who can handle the occasion.

“I’m delighted for everyone, the supporters and everyone and credit to the boys, they went all the way to the end.

“To walk out in front of the fans was something special. It was a fantastic occasion and I savoured every moment of it. A great, great day.”
