Today marks 29 years since THAT John Sheridan goal sunk Manchester United 1-0 in the Rumbelows Cup final at Wembley … Chris Turner’s tremendous second-half save from Brian McClair’s header ensured the famous victory … and the London Owls joined the rest of our thousands of fans in celebrating a great day.
it was a memorable weekend for the London Owls, starting with a dinner at the Wembley Hilton the night before the game – with special guest Tony Kay – followed by the match itself and then a celebratory drink or three back at the Hilton to toast Big Ron and the team on lifting the cup.
What marvellous memories of a fantastic day!
