Wednesday at Charlton on opening day in division one

Wednesday will kick off life back in division one with a trip to Charlton on the opening day of the season on August 7.

We then take on manager Darren Moore’s former club, Doncaster Rovers, in a derby clash at Hillsborough on the following Saturday and entertain Fleetwood on August 17.

There’s another South Yorkshire tussle on August 21 when we take on Rotherham at the New York Stadium, before travelling to Morecambe on August 28 over the Bank Holiday weekend, and facing Sunderland at Hillsborough on September 4.

Boxing Day sees us at home to Burton and we travel to Shrewsbury for the New Year’s Day fixture.

The season finishes with a home game with Portsmouth on April 30.

If away fans are allowed into games next season then, geographically at least, other matches of particular interest for London Owls will be at Ipswich (September 25), AFC Wimbledon (October 16), Cambridge (October 19), Portsmouth (December 7), Oxford (January 22), Gillingham (March 19), MK Dons (April 15) and Wycombe (Easter Saturday, April 23).

The draw for the Carabao Cup first round will be made live on Sky Sports at 3.40pm today, followed by the Papa John’s Trophy round one draw on Sky Sports at 4.30pm.
