‘We know what we need to do at Fleetwood’

Darren Moore is calling on his Wednesday side to bounce back at Fleetwood in midweek after defeat at Wycombe this afternoon saw us drop out of the play-off places.

The loss meant we slipped from fourth to seventh and with just two games left we now need to win both to ensure a top six spot by the end of the Portsmouth match next Saturday.

Moore said after the Wycombe setback: “I am disappointed but we can’t allow that feeling to harbour.

“Now we have got to put a line through it and react. We know what we have to do on Tuesday.”

Moore, who made four changes from the side that beat Crewe on Tuesday after a busy period of games, added: “There was one moment in the game where we switched off from concentration. It was probably the clearest-cut chance in the game, it fell to them and they put the ball in the back of the net.

“After their goal, I didn’t really feel like we threatened enough to score a goal to get back in the game.

“We tried to change it and we got Midy and Pato on the pitch but the game ended up running away from us.

“When the game becomes frantic, we have to make sure we keep our composure and stick to the game plan. I thought in the last 20 minutes we got a little frantic and lost a bit of composure”
