Trio fit for selection for Crewe trip

Josh Windass, Ciaran Brennan and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are all back in contention for a place in the Wednesday squad at Crewe tomorrow.

The trio missed the midweek trip to Portsmouth through injury but Darren Moore said they are fit for consideration for the visit to the Mornflake Stadium.

Massimo Luongo misses the trip, followed by the home matches with Accrington and Burton, as he serves a three-game ban for his sending off at Portsmouth.

We face Crewe on the back of an 11-match unbeaten run and two points adrift of the play-off places, while our opponents sit one place from the bottom of the division one table.

On the longer-term injury front, Chey Dunkley, Dennis Adeniran and Sam Hutchinson are back in training while Everton loanee Lewis Gibson is expected to return to Hillsborough in January after being sidelined.

In addition, Darren Moore said that Dominic Iorfa is making good progress but the manager did not want to put a timescale on his return to action.
