Thorniley expected to sit out Swans clash

Jordan Thorniley is likely to miss Saturday’s home game with Swansea after suffering a head injury at Rotherham last weekend.

Thorniley received lengthy treatment on the field following an aerial challenge from Rotherham’s Will Vaulks late in the match and the young defender then had to be helped from the pitch.

Owls boss Steve Bruce said: “Jordan is struggling for the weekend because of a bit of concussion. I would think the Swansea game will be too early for him.”

Tom Lees, now back in full training, is the expected replacement after being ruled out for three matches with a shin problem.

Fernando Forestieri is banned for the Swansea game after his red card at Rotherham while Newcastle loanee Rolando Aarons could get a place in the starting line-up after impressing in the under-23s 2-0 win at Sheff U on Tuesday evening.
