Taylor and Bothroyd eye starting place as Owls look to go top

Deadline day signing Martin Taylor and loan striker Jay Bothroyd are both likely to be in the squad as Wednesday look to go top of the Championship at Brighton on Friday night.

Dave Jones could turn to central defender Taylor to bolster a back four that has looked fragile at times while the experienced Bothroyd may well get at least a start on the bench.

The sixth-placed Owls will be wanting to bounce back after their first defeat under Jones against Crystal Palace and so continue the promising start to the season, while Brighton are in fourth spot – both teams being on seven points.

And the two clubs know that victory will take them to the top of the Championshp table – if only for a few hours before the rest of the action on Saturday.
