Lee Bullen will have a near full-strength squad to choose from for Saturday’s Championship opener at Reading.
Dominic Iorfa is serving the second of a three-match ban from last season while Joe Wildsmith is still ruled out with the knee injury suffered in a pre-season friendly in Germany.
Those two apart, caretaker boss Lee Bullen has all his squad available and he says Fernando Forestieri is in the right frame of mind to play, if selected, following this week’s FA six-match ban and hefty fine, which the player is appealing against.
Wednesday will be backed by a sellout 2,200 travelling support.
With regard to the vacant manager’s position, Bullen said: “My job at the moment is to hopefully get three points at Reading. The manager’s job is not even in my head.”
He added that the club could add to the squad before next Thursday’s transfer deadline and has already indicated that he would like to strengthen in central defence, midfield and with another winger.
