Wednesday have confirmed that six players are now out of contract … these being Jose Semedo, Vincent Sasso, Claude Dielna, Modou Sougou, Urby Emanuelson and Darryl Lachman.
There is no further news at this stage as to whether any of them will be offered new contracts but it can be expected that Dielna, Sougou, Emanuelson and Lachman will all be released, given their lack of first team action since joining the club.
We wait to see if there is either a new playing contract – or a different role – for the ever-popular Semedo and whether Sasso has done enough to be offered another deal after a short spell in the team during the last campaign.
Loanees Will Buckley and Callum McManaman have returned to their parent clubs while reports indicate that young keepers Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson have been given extensions to their contracts.
