S6 clash heading for Wednesday sellout

It looks like being a sellout crowd for Wednesday fans at Hillsborough on Saturday as we aim to clinch a play-off place against rivals Cardiff City.

Just a handful of tickets remained for Owls supporters by Thursday evening as we target the point that would confirm our spot in next month’s play-offs.

With two games to play and four points between us, victory for Cardiff would take them to within a point of ourselves in the chase for the final play-off place and that would mean us going into the final game of the season at Wolves needing a victory – at kick-off time at least – to ensure we finish ahead of City.

Carlos Carvalhal will be looking for all three points against Cardiff, saying: “The next game is important, we know that one point is enough to achieve the sixth position but we play all the games, all the season, to try to win and to try for the three points.

“We will do exactly the same in the next game and after we will see.”

He added: “We do not feel pressure, we still have two games to play but of course our focus is on Saturday.

“We need to continue what we are doing, with the quality that we are doing and we expect a nice environment on Saturday with our fans. I’m absolutely sure we will show the power of Hillsborough.”

Carvalhal is expected to stick with the same squad that took an excellent point at Derby last Saturday, although he could possibly recall Sam Hutchinson if he feels the midfielder has recovered sufficiently from his lengthy lay-off with glandular fever.
