Pre-match tribute to Jack Charlton

There will be a minute’s silence prior to kick off at this evening’s home game with Huddersfield to pay respects to our former manager Jack Charlton, who passed away on Friday, aged 85.

The teams will also wear black armbands as football remembers Big Jack and, in terms of his time at Wednesday, we will all have special memories of his six successful years at Hillsborough.

Highlights included the FA Cup five-game marathon with Arsenal, the Boxing Day massacre against Sheff U, promotion from the old Division Three, reaching the FA Cup semi finals for the first time in 17 years and taking the team to the brink of a return to the top flight.

RIP Jack.
