Pair ready to step up from bench at Accrington

Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Massimo Luongo are both likely to be in the starting line-up for our trip to Accrington Stanley.

Peacock-Farrell was on the bench at Plymouth in midweek, having returned a few hours earlier from international duty for Northern Ireland, while Luongo continued recuperation from his long-term lay-off with the last 15 minutes as a sub at Home Park.

Darren Moore can be expected to give both players starting roles while we wait to see if Lee Gregory is fit to return up front after his calf problem, along with Jack Hunt (fractured hand). Theo Corbeanu could also start after playing the last 30 minutes at Plymouth.

Dennis Adeniran and Marvin Johnson will both miss out through hamstring injuries but Ciaran Brennan may well get a place in defence while there is a possibility that former Accrington player Josh Windass could return for the Owls, at least on the bench, having been ruled out since being injured in pre-season.

We go into the match still only two points and two places adrift of the play-off places but, while unbeaten in our last six league games, we have drawn five of those and Moore is well aware that we need to start turning draws into wins if we want to keep pace with the top six.

Accrington are in 14th place, five points behind Wednesday.
