Owls slip out of top six ahead of MK Dons test

Wednesday slipped out of the division one play-off places this afternoon on a day when  three of our rivals won.

With ourselves not in action until the game at second-placed MK Dons tomorrow night, Sunderland and Wycombe both took advantage with victories – the former scoring yet another late winner – seeing us drop down to seventh spot from fifth on 73 points from 41 games.

Wycombe move into fifth on 76 points, but having played two more matches than us, while Sunderland remain in sixth, also on 76 points but from 42 played.

Oxford in eighth moved to within a point of us following their win at Fleetwood but we have two games in hand on them, while fourth-placed Plymouth remain on 78 points from 43 played after losing at Wycombe.

Leaders Wigan and Rotherham in third are also playing tomorrow, the Latics hosting Cambridge and Rotherham at home to Ipswich.
