Owls pair in squad as Scots clinch Euro finals spot

Liam Palmer and Callum Paterson were both in the Scotland squad that beat Serbia in a penalty shootout in Belgrade this evening, to clinch the country’s place in next year’s Euro 2020 finals.

With Scotland leading 1-0, Paterson came on as a sub three minutes from the end of normal time, only to see Serbia grab a dramatic last-minute equaliser.

The play-off final qualifier saw no more goals in extra time and when it came to penalties Scotland triumphed 5-4 in the shootout.

Palmer was an unused sub for the evening and both players will now be hoping to be in Steve Clarke’s squad for next year’s finals.
