Owls in first game flop for new owners

The first game since the Thai takeover saw Wednesday go down with little fight in a 2-0 defeat at Reading.

First-half goals from Pavel Pogrebnyak and Nathaniel Chabolah saw the Royals take all three points and it could have been worse, with Keiren Westwood saving a second-half penalty from Hal Robson-Kanu.

Lewis Baker forced an excellent save out of Adam Federici just before the break and Claude Dielna went close late on. However, the new owners would have been far from impressed with such a lacklustre display and we have now slipped to 10th in the table, nine points away from the play-off places.
