Wednesday have nade a bid to sign former loanee Sam Hutchinson on a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old impressed during a loan spell from Chelsea in the second half of last season – despite being red carded twice and suffering injury problems – and Stuart Gray is keen to bring him back to S6 after the player was released by the London club at the end of the campaign.
Gray said: “Sam is available on a free and an offer has gone in for him. I think he’s away on holiday with his family at the moment but the club are talking with his agent and I am keen to re-sign Sam.”
The 24-year-old joined us on loan as a defender, although he played mainly as a holding midfielder. Gray is aware other clubs may be interested in Hutchinson but hopes his successful spell at Hillsborough will influence him in his decsion making.
