Owls eye replacement as Price moves on

Wednesday are set to sign a new keeper after Lewis Price joined Championship neighbours Rotherham on a two-year deal.

Price was offered a new contract by Wednesday but has decided to opt to sign for the Millers. He found himself third choice keeper behind Keiren Westwood and Joe Wildsmith last season but spent some time on the subs bench when Wildsmith had a lengthy injury lay-off.

Carlos Carvalhal has said he expects to sign a replacement keeper on Monday, with Norwich’s Jake Kean being linked with the club. The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal at Carrow Road in 2015, having spent the previous six years at Blackburn, but failed to make a first-team appearance last season and had loan spells at Colchester and Swindon.
