Josh Onomah is the likely replacement for the suspended Barry Bannan at Swansea on Saturday.
The midfielder, on loan from Tottenham, last started a game in the 4-0 home drubbing by Norwich at the start of last month and missed two excellent first-half chances in an instantly forgettable performance from himself and most of his team-mates.
He injured a knee while on England under-21 duty during the international break but has been on the bench for the four Championship games since then and is expected to fill the gap left by Bannan, who begins a two-match suspension.
Jos Luhukay says he has no new injury problems and also has to decide whether to give Steven Fletcher a starting place up front after he was left on the bench against Rotherham last Saturday.
