Reports are indicating that Chris O’Grady could finally be making a permanent move to Championship neighbours Barnsley.
The Oakwell side are said to have made an improved offer for the striker, who spent the second half of last season on loan with them, and it now looks as though the drawn-out transfer saga is close to reaching a conclusion.
Wednesday turned down an initial recent Barnsley offer for the player but are expected to accept the improved bid for O’Grady.
Elsewhere on the transfer front, the Owls continue to be linked with Leicester’s Republic of Ireland central defender Sean St Ledger, who has been released by Nigel Pearson
