First-half goals from Josh Windass and summer signing Michael Smith saw Wednesday to a 2-0 pre-season friendly win at Harrogate Town this evening.
Windass struck in style after just eight minutes, firing into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box.
Smith almost opened his Wednesday account soon afterwards when his shot hit the woodwork … but he did begin his Wednesday goalscoring career just after the half-hour mark with a penalty.
Dennis Adeniran was fouled by Kyle Ferguson and Smith slotted home the spot kick.
Only keeper David Stockdale remained from the starting line-up in a more even second period as ithe Owls ran out 2-0 winners.
