Miguel Llera is back at Hillsborough as a coach with the academy.
Llera, who became a fans’ favourite during the division one promotion season, left the club in the summer to join Scunthorpe.
He is a fully qualified UEFA coach, with additional coaching qualifications, and will be working with the Youth Development youngsters.
Academy manager Dean Ramsdale said: “Miguel is a quality coach, giving us further experience and knowledge in providing our academy players with the best possible coaching available.
“Just as important is the fact that he kids really respond to Miguel.”
