Gary Madine is currently better off getting games on loan at Coventry rather than sitting on the bench at Hillsborough, says head coach Stuart Gray.
Responding to a question about the striker’s situation at S6, Gray confirmed that he has had talks with the Sky Blues about extending the current loan deal and said that the player is enjoying his spell at the Ricoh.
He added: “Personally, I don’t think we need him in the building at the moment, he is better off playing for Coventry and keeping up his match sharpness.”
Asked if Madine has a future with Wednesday, Gray said: “Of course he does. He is Sheffield Wednesday’s player on loan to Coventry City at the moment – just like Lewis McGugan and Royston Drenthe are here on loan from their clubs.”
