Luhukay calls for repeat performance

Jos Luhukay is looking for a repeat performance of the midweek win over Millwall when we take on Ipswich at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Owls manager made wholesale changes for the Millwall game, dropping experienced players in Fernando Forestieri, Sam Hutchinson and Atdhe Nuhiu after the dismal defeat at Brentford, and he was rewarded for his bold move with a first Championship win of the season for the Owls.

Luhukay said: “The team gave a good answer against Millwall after the Brentford game and we will have the same passion, the same ambition and the same intensity when we play Ipswich.”

He said that factors like age and experience do not come into his considerations for choosing his team, adding: “It was very important we made new decisions for the game against Millwall after the Brentford match.

“I must see 200 per cent … where is the passion, where is my ambition, what will I do for the team and what will I do for myself to be successful. They were my criteria for the decisions I made and they will be for the Ipswich game.

“On Wednesday, I saw a completely fantastic team from the first to the last minute – from the passion, from the ambition and from the intensity.”
