Keane hoping for Reading all-clear

New boy Will Keane should be fit to play at Reading on Saturday after being forced off against Birmingham with a cut eye.

Keane, who went straight into the starting line-up after signing on loan from Manchester United, was subbed 15 minutes from time following the incident but said afterwards: “I got an accidental elbow near the eye and once you see that much blood, you have to come off the pitch these days.

“I will get it checked out again by the doctor but he has told me I should be fine for Saturday.”

Sam Hutchinson will also come back into contention after serving a one-match ban following his sending off against Bolton.
