Jones: ‘Players can feel proud of themselves’

Dave Jones was full of praise for the team – and in particular two-goal Jermaine Johnson – after Saturday’s win over relegation rivals Blackburn.

Victory takes us into 18th place and three points clear of the relegation zone and Jones said afterwards: “Yes, we’ve conceded two goals and made it hard for ourselves, but I have nothing but praise for the players today.

“They’ve had a hard schedule over the Easter period, with two games in three days, and another tough one today.

“But they can feel proud of themselves tonight because we have won a very important game and continued our run.”

Commenting on JJ’s match-winning performance, Jones added: “On his day he does what we saw today, and credit to him because he was outstanding.”
