Dave Jones has been handed a suspended one-match touchline ban by the FA and fined £2,000 following the incident against Brighton earlier this month.
The ban is until the end of next season and will only be invoked should a proven breach of FA rules occur duing that time.
Jones was sent to the stand after a touchline bust-up with Brighton’s Charlie Oatway. The Independent Regulatory Committee approved the FA’s proposal to withdraw the charge against Oatway, who was also banished to the stands, and no further action will be taken against him.
